Czech Puppets in Korea
The Institute of Arts – Theatre Institute in collaboration with Czech Centres took part in the PAMS (Performing Arts Market) expo in Seoul between 5 and 10 October. This was the Czech Republic’s third participation at the expo, this time with a presentation focusing on puppet theatre. In addition to the traditional exhibition stand, the PAMS Link section featured two performances of The Eighth Day by Continuo Theatre. The event was also an opportunity to present a new exhibition of the Institute of Arts, Czech Puppet Theatre from Three Perspectives, providing a brief but comprehensive overview of the rich past and varied present of Czech puppetry. Its three sections focusing on historical development, transformations in the post-war period and puppetry technology provide information about the various eras of Czech puppet theatre. The exhibition curated by Nina Malíková and Martina Černá was designed by Antonín Maloň and Tomáš Zmrzlý.
